In this series, we will be looking at multiple warehousing. SAP Business One has a beautiful feature called multiple warehousing where one single legal entity or single company can create multiple warehouses irrespective of its location within or outside the company premise. Companies can have warehouses just for the purpose of storage or for delivering finished goods. These warehouses might be located in remote locations or locations other than the manufacturing sites. These warehouses can be very well managed in SAP Business One. So individual warehouse can do their own transactions like receiving material and shipping material whereas the company can gently manage the entire warehouse. All the Warehouse data like Item stock, reservation quantity which are available to use, quantities which are in pipeline and yet to come, and deliveries can be accessed from multiple warehouses. The primary IT infrastructure requirement for this feature is each warehouse which needs to be connected to the central warehouse or the company needs to have an internet connection with decent speed and SAP Business One user license. These are the two IT criteria required to connect multiple warehouse to the central warehouse or the company.
