SAP BUSINESS ONE – RESOURCE PLANNING DATA
Streamline Production Planning and Management:
Let us consider a scenario, the daily capacity for the cutting machine resource is planned and defined. The group in cost definitions has already been allocated for this resource and defined the unit of measure and runtime calculation. To plan the daily capacity to run this resource, the planning data tab is navigated. The planning data tab allows to capture the default data that can be optionally used when defining the actual capacities later in the process. It is not directly related to the actual capacity data. The following is inputted:-
The first factor to determine the daily capacity is based on an eight hour shift, Monday to Friday. So number 8 is simply added under the first column of the ‘daily capacity factors tab’ in the resource master data screen. The second factor is that there are two shifts per day. So in this ongoing factor, number 2 is entered on the very next column after the number 8. The third factor is that there are three cutting machines available, so in the third factor field (3rd column) next to number 2, number 3 is entered.
Factors one and two are relevant to a single run capacity, however factor three is not. Therefore factor one is indicated by ‘yes’, factor two is also indicated by ‘yes’, but factor three is indicated by ‘no’. The available daily capacity of a single resource unit assuming a production order can only be produced on one resource at a time. In the remarks field under the ‘daily capacity factors tab’ in the resource master data screen, two 8 hour shifts are noted and then machines are noted as 3 machines.
Therefore the single run capacity for this resource is a full day of running one machine over two shifts. This is signified by choosing the value ‘yes’ for the factors one and two only. Now the setup of new resource master data has been completed.
